Like the desert for which it is named, the The Mojave is Kawasakis expression of technologically-advanced performance, and no better evidence of the Mojaves high-performance capability and versatility can be found than on the race courses of the Grand National Cross Country ATV racing series where Kawasaki Team Green rider Todd Knippenberg wins races on his virtually stock Mojave, competing against ATVs with much larger engines.The Mojave 250 gets its power from a high-output, liquid-cooled 249cc four-stroke single-cylinder engine. Four valves actuated by dual overhead cams boost low-end torque while providing optimum breathing at high rpm for more power. The fuel mixture reaches the high compression combustion chamber through a 34mm semi-flat slide constant velocity carburetor. A maintenance free capacitor discharge ignition (CDI) with electronic advance supplies a hot spark to ignite the charge at the precise time, regardless of engine speed.
